Frequently Asked Questions for Australia PR

There are three types of visas :

(a) 189 visas or Skilled Independent Visas(Requirement 65 points)

(b) 190 visas or Skilled Sponsored Visas(Requirement 65 points)

(c) 491 visas or Skilled Independent Visas (Requirement 65 points)

         a)189 visas or Skilled Independent Visas :

An applicant is able to live in any state or any part of Australia.

  1. b) 190 visas or Skilled Sponsored Visas(State gives 5 points) :

An applicant is required to live in the state(can live in the entire state) that sponsors him for a period of 2 years. He can stay in any area or region of that state.

  1. c) 491 visas or Skilled Independent Visas(State gives 10 points) :

An applicant is required to stay in the regional area of that state for a period of 3 years.

Following the completion of the stay of 3 years and completion of  1 year of Job(In any field)in the STATE that sponsors the applicant, the applicant becomes eligible for PR visas. All the applicants who stay in the regional area for 3 years and work for 1 year in any field is certain to get the PR visas. He is not required to give IELTS or PTE exams again or do not have to satisfy any other criteria.

You need to get a minimum of 65 points. These points are calculated on the basis of Age, Education, PTE/IELTS score, Years of Experience, Spouse education and experience, State Sponsorship etc.

Our experience says that getting a higher score in PTE is much more possible than getting a higher score in IELTS. For instance, it is very rare and difficult to get a score of 9.0 bands in each module of IELTS. However, getting a score of 90 each(9.0 bands equivalent in IELTS)is more frequent and possible in PTE.

Hence, we recommend you to give PTE exams. However, in few cases, candidates prefer IELTS exams as well.

Secondly, the preparation time in PTE is much more lesser than IELTS.

If your spouse has studied in English Medium, or have done at least his/her Bachelors or Masters in English, he/she is not required to give these exams.

Otherwise, she will have to appear for IELTS or PTE exams and need to get a very low score of 4.5 bands in IELTS or 30 in PTE.

Any person with minimum of 1 year of experience is eligible to apply, provided his occupation is in demand. We have also got the visas of applicants who had only 3 months of experience.

We have been doing PR visas since last 15 years. Our experience says that rules have only got tougher and application charges have become very higher over the years. Hence, if you are genuinely interested, the normal rule is :

     THE SOONER, THE BETTER.

We recommend you to start the procedure and preparation of IELTS/PTE together. The reason is for submitting the EOI(EXPRESSION OF INTEREST, the second stage), it is mandatory(compulsory) to have both positive Assessment and IELTS/PTE exams results ready.

Many times, the state opens for 2 days, 1 day or for few hours. Under these circumstances, only those applicants will be able to apply whose Assessment and IELTS/PTE scores are ready.

Both these countries are top countries to live where lacs of people move every year either on student visas or immigration visas. Both these countries are almost similar on currency rates, economic conditions and other factors. Both these countries are English speaking countries. Both these countries have their cities in the list of top living cities of the world. Hence, it is very difficult to differentiate between the two.

The more important and relevant question would be : Where I am eligible to go ? There is no point starting the application for the country and then wasting time and resources where it is not possible to go.

In general, if you are not accustomed to very cold weather, AUSTRALIA is the place to be.

For Engineers, Software professionals, and few other occupations, Australia is the right choice.

Normally, it takes 8 to 12 months from the start of the procedure to finally getting the visas. However, the time could vary depending upon the rules that may change, getting the score of IELTS/PTE on time, changes in occupation list etc.

In fact, currently, 70 percent of all our visas are granted to those applicants whom we have not met even for once. That itself shows the system of our working.

It all depends on the points you secure. For instance, the most preferred visas would always be 189 sub class visas. However, this visa is available to those who score very high on the list.

For others 190 or 491 subclass may be suitable as you get additional 5 or 10 points by getting sponsorship from the state.

For all the three visas, the procedure is almost the same.
